The purpose of the Consortium for the Protection of Valtellina Apples is to protect, promote and nurture the value of the varieties grown in Valtellina.
It also plays an important role in informing consumers and supervising production. In addition, it protects the product against abuse, unfair competition, imitations and improper use of the designation.
The Consortium directly controls all stages of the supply chain, from the field to shipping, guaranteeing the traceability, quality and wholesomeness of a unique product that features all the high-quality sensory characteristics typical of a mountain apple.
